Hi there and welcome!

We are Deb Lane and Stephanie Remers. We met on a message board in a downline club we both belonged to way back in 1998. Through the club, we became leaders and learned the ins and outs of the new frontier of online marketing.

Sadly, it turned out that the head honcho was, shall we say, less than ethical, so we exposed him and resigned from our positions along with some other club leaders and the downline club soon evaporated along with lots of people’s hopes, dreams and money.

Since then, we had dabbled in other opportunities and even stopped trying to find “the one” that would allow us to retire early for many years. Then, in 2004, another member of the now long gone downline club called Deb to tell her about a new opportunity. Deb, being a skeptic but not wanting to hurt anyone’s feelings, agreed to check it out. After watching the presentation, she signed up and immediately contacted Stephanie, who initially ignored Deb’s requests to check out just one more opportunity. But Steph, not wanting to hurt Deb’s feelings, obliged and signed up immediately!

Thus was born Marketers Edge. We decided to try to find programs and tools that were affordable and easy to use so that the average person or newbie can give online marketing a shot without getting overwhelmed (or broke). We’ve gone through a lot of trial and error (and continue to do so), but we have found some great stuff out there.

Flash forward to 2008

We had a lot of success for quite a few years, then the economy took a pretty hard hit. Deb’s personal favorite quote for years was one by John Lennon, “Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans”. Little did she realize that she manifested that reality all around her! It seemed that everyone that we were involved with got distracted from business building due to life changing events that needed their attention. Our downlines started to shrink. Steph had health issues that required her full attention. Deb retired from her “get up, take a shower, get in the car and drive to work” job in Jan 2009 and spent the better part of a year enjoying the notion of doing nothing…but…Deb got bored with doing nothing and started looking for the right business that we could both get excited about. So much in the world on internet marketing has changed in just a few short years, particularly in the area of social media.  And though our original program still brings in a residual income, we were looking for something that really harnessed the power of our ever changing technology.  The good news?  We found it! Deb’s new favorite quote, by Eleanor Roosevelt, is “The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience.”

In future posts, we will share what we’ve learned with you. It’s our sincere hope we’ll be able to help some “regular” people out there get started on their path to earning residual income from home.
